Our nationally acclaimed and highly qualified PGA Coaching Team are passionate and committed to ensuring you reach your goals and beyond. From beginner to Pro, we cater for golfers of all ages and abilities.
Aaron Jones – PGA Professional
Aaron’s Professional coaching career starting in 2012 having qualified with the PGA through their foundation degree which is run alongside The University of Birmingham.
Aaron is a full time coach committed to improve players of all standards. He is determined to improve his skills and knowledge to enable him to be the best coach he can be, Aaron has excellent communication skills and can deliver first class tuition to any level of golfers.
He currently works with Cambridgeshire County Golf Union and has done for the past 4 years, working with junior golfers, from development stages through to elite level.
His coaching highlights would be, teaching juniors who have attended, British, European and World Championships and helping adult students win Club Championships.
Suzanne Dickens – PGA Professional
Suzanne has 23 years coaching experience, she is a Senior Teaching Professional and is highly regarded as a top coach with customers travelling from across the region.
She is equally suited to coaching Beginners and Elite golfers of all abilities whether they are Men, Ladies, Junior or Senior golfers. As a European Tour Player and multiple tournament winner, she is passionate about every aspect of the game and is keen to share her learning and experience with everyone.
Suzanne is a Special Olympics ambassador delivering all inclusive disability coaching and has developed the very successful Ladies Academy which has introduced many ladies to the sport. She also runs Get into Golf programmes and Golf Coaching Trips abroad.
Suzanne would love the opportunity to help you develop your golf and get as much enjoyment from the game as she does.
Matt Thorpe – PGA Professional
Matt has been coaching golf for over 11 years. If you are keen to improve and willing to learn then Matt can help you!
Matt’s experience includes 4 years out in Australia working alongside some of the country’s best coaches at the Royal Sydney Golf Club. He then went on to be a full time head coach at Northwick Park Golf Centre in North West London, and working closely with the middlesex under 18 squad county squad on a regular basis whilst becoming Titleist TPI qualified.
He then progressed on to the Gog Magog Golf Club in Cambridge where he enjoyed a memorable 2 years working with members and visitors on development their games whilst continuing to develop his own coaching methods.
Matt is now a full time coach here at Thorpe Wood Golf Academy and uses the GC2 and HMT launch monitor technology, slow motion video analysis and on-course scoring methods to help his students achieve their goals during all lessons.
Lucas Bickers - Assistant PGA Professional
Lucas is a product of the T/W junior academy.
Lucas is two years into his PGA foundation degree. He has completed his Level 1 and Level 2 PGA coaching and has been coaching the junior academy for 3 years now.
He captained Cambridgeshire U’18’s as a junior and decided to turn pro when he was 18. Lucas currently holds the course record at Thorpe Wood GC.
His ambition is to make the game enjoyable for everyone and help golfers of all abilities improve.
